Some applications such as school classrooms, lecture halls, recording studios and communal areas in apartments, have specific requirements for sound reduction.  For any project requiring acoustic ratings, we offer a range of door and frame seal options to meet the requirements of Approved Document E (the part of building regulations covering ‘resistance to the passage of sound’).

Acoustic performance requires the correct combination of door elements (e.g., cores, seals and ironmongery) and best practice during on-site installation.   Through our group partner Fire & Acoustic Seals, we have an extensive third-party certified acoustic testing programme in place to enable us to keep up with the progression of new products and concepts, ensuring the products we offer are fully compliant with acoustic regulations.  Our acoustics department has performed hundreds of tests (carried out in UKAS accredited laboratories) to BS EN ISO 717-1:1997, to ensure we can offer a comprehensive range of acoustic ratings from 29dB to 46dB.

Test evidence can be viewed on our Acoustic Certificates page.  For product information on acoustic options, please visit www.fireandacousticseals.co.uk.
